What does this course involve?

• This course has been designed to service the needs of the events and meeting industries. This is a fast growing industry that requires trained staff with work experience in a service environment.

• The content is delivered in a range of formats and includes the planning and execution of at least   one large event. You will have the opportunity to get behind the scenes at some of Melbourne's major events and festivals

The hospitality management industry consists of a range of different types of organizations. These include:
• Large Government bodies responsible for events such as the Commonwealth Games
• Smaller Government and special interest associations organizing events
• Small to mid-sized enterprises organizing corporate and social functions.
• Leading Airlines /Cruises
• Leading Hotels
• Leading Tourism related organizations
 

Course Structure
The delivery of diploma is integrated into an intensive program, which includes a range of delivery methods. The class will plan and execute one large event and be involved in a range of smaller events so newly learnt skills can be put to work straight away. The course integrates into Advanced diploma /Bachelor of Hospitality management course of University of Ballarat
Admission Requirements for Overseas Students

Students must have completed the Year 12 with high score or equivalent including a minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS exam.
 

Teaching Methods

Teaching Methods involve a combination of lectures, tutorials, and practical work. Tutorials are provided at all terms of the course. Practical work is carried out in supervised laboratories with staff on hand to offer assistance.

Assessment
For each course in the program, a student must complete all the assignments and should pass in the final examination, which will constitute at least 50% of the final score.
